- Where is your faculty campus?
Our faculty is part of Ankara Social Sciences University, a state university, and is located in the Ulus district in the centre of Ankara. Our campus stands on the historic Hükümet Square, where the Republic was founded and democracy built, surrounded by Ankara Castle, the Hacı Bayram-ı Veli Mosque, the First and Second Parliament buildings and the Victory Monument.
- The ÖSYM preference guide also mentions your Northern Cyprus campus. Could you tell us about it? Are tuition fees charged there?
- In addition to its Ankara campus, ASBU has a further campus in Nicosia, the capital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
- The Faculty of Law on the Northern Cyprus campus, where members of the ASBU Faculty of Law also teach, has its own separate code in the ÖSYM preference guide.
- Tuition is free at the ASBU Faculty of Law on the Ankara campus. Tuition is charged for the programme on the Northern Cyprus campus. Scholarships of up to one hundred per cent are nevertheless available to students who choose the Northern Cyprus campus, according to their achievement and personal circumstances.

- What transport and accommodation options are available?
- Our students may stay in public and private halls of residence and guest houses, chiefly those of the Higher Education Credit and Hostels Institution. There are many halls of residence within walking distance of our faculty.
- Thanks to its central and historic location, the ASBU Faculty of Law can also be reached easily from anywhere in Ankara by a single means of transport.

- Do you have a preparatory programme?
- At ASBU our students receive one year of advanced English instruction in the preparatory class. Students who complete the preparatory year acquire the ability to write, read, speak and understand English.
- Students who already have a command of English may begin their legal studies in the first year, provided they pass the exemption examination.
- Which languages may I study as a second foreign language?
- A second foreign language is compulsory at our faculty. Students may choose one of the following as their second foreign language: German, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Persian, French, Spanish, Italian or Russian.
- Could you tell us about your academic staff?
- Our academic staff are scholars who believe that training lawyers contributes to solving social problems, who welcome criticism as a contribution, who are distinguished in their own fields, who bring practical experience, who give priority to interdisciplinary work and who are sensitive to difference.
- Our academic staff comprises 12 professors, 9 associate professors, 16 assistant professors and 2 lecturers, each expert in their own field.

- Are double major and minor programmes available?
- Lawyers who are to solve complex problems need knowledge not only of law but of other fields as well. While taking their law courses, our students may also take courses in other faculties of the University, such as the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Faculty of Political Sciences (departments of business administration, economics, international relations, political science and public administration), and may complete a minor programme.
- What internship and career opportunities are there?
- During their studies our students may take elective courses leading to specialisation and may also take part in research projects. Our students are supported in undertaking internships in settings where the law is actually practised: the Council of State, the Court of Cassation, the courts, public prosecutors’ offices, bar associations, law firms, public bodies such as RTÜK and the Competition Authority, and civil society organisations. Our students are also brought together regularly with experts in the field, enabling them to plan their careers.
- Can I take part in exchange programmes abroad?
- To promote international student and staff mobility, the ASBU Faculty of Law enables its students to spend one semester of their studies at partner higher education institutions under the Erasmus and Mevlâna exchange programmes.

- English plus a second foreign language
- Before beginning their undergraduate courses, our students receive one year of advanced English preparatory instruction.
- In addition to the preparatory year, thirty per cent of the undergraduate programme at the ASBU Faculty of Law is taught in English.
- Alongside English, students of the ASBU Faculty of Law may also learn German, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Persian, French, Spanish, Italian or Russian.

- Information technology law
- In keeping with the needs of the age, at both undergraduate and graduate level, courses in information technology law are taught by qualified members of our academic staff.

- Our faculty holds symposia on information technology law every year. These have included the Symposium on Combating Disinformation through Law, the Symposium on the Protection and Privacy of the Child in Internet Law, and the Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Law.

- Master’s and doctoral programmes
- Our faculty offers master’s programmes in four departments and doctoral programmes in three, taught by academic staff who are experts in their fields.

- Library and study rooms
