Expert Witness Training

Definition and Legal Basis

Expert witnessing is the provision of expert opinion to courts and other relevant authorities on matters whose resolution requires specialist or technical knowledge. Our programmes are conducted under the legislation on expert witnessing, with the authorisation of the Ministry of Justice.

Our Programmes

  • Basic Training in Expert Witnessing — 24 hours
  • Refresher Training in Expert Witnessing — 6 hours

Content

The programme covers the general principles of procedural law, the duties and obligations of the expert witness, the procedure and principles of report writing, and rules of ethics.

Who May Apply?

Those who have the necessary professional experience in the relevant field of expertise and who wish to act as expert witnesses may apply. For the current conditions, please see the announcements of the Department of Expert Witnessing of the Ministry of Justice.

Teaching Staff

Members of academic staff who are experts in the field, together with practitioners.

Schedule, Quota and Fees

Certificate

Participants who complete the programme receive a certificate of attendance approved by the Ministry of Justice and viewable through e-Devlet.
