ABOUT QUALITY

The Faculty of Law carries out its teaching and learning, research and development, community service and governance processes within the quality assurance system of Ankara Social Sciences University. Quality work is planned on the basis of the Regulation on Higher Education Quality Assurance and the Higher Education Quality Council together with the quality policy of the University, and it is monitored and evaluated by the Unit Quality Commission.

The Faculty aims to develop an understanding of law that produces theory in the social sciences and gives priority to the needs of society. To that end it seeks to educate lawyers who can identify social problems and propose solutions to them, who observe universal legal values, whose reasoning skills are well developed and who have sufficient research ability in their field. The extent to which the degree programmes, the research activities and the administrative processes serve this aim is reviewed regularly through institutional internal evaluation reports, unit activity reports, stakeholder surveys and quality commission meetings.

Quality Culture

At the ASBÜ Faculty of Law, quality is not merely an evaluation activity carried out at certain intervals but a continuous working culture embraced by all members of the Faculty. This culture rests on a participatory approach that is open to development, takes into account the feedback of students and of academic and administrative staff, and conducts decision-making and improvement processes in a transparent and accessible manner. The Faculty regards quality culture as a dynamic process in which, in line with the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, planning, implementation, monitoring and improvement based on feedback continuously follow one another. Accordingly, students are regarded not merely as stakeholders receiving a service but as an active component of quality processes.

Quality Work

At the ASBÜ Faculty of Law, quality work covers the systematic monitoring and continuous improvement of all of the Faculty's activities, from teaching and learning and student services to research activities and administrative processes. This work is carried out within the PDCA cycle on the basis of concrete objectives and criteria: practices are monitored regularly, feedback obtained from students and other stakeholders is evaluated, and the necessary improvements are made in the light of the results. Quality processes are based on data-driven decision-making, transparency, traceability and accountability, and technological means are used with the aim of making processes more effective, faster and more accessible.

Mission

The quality mission of the ASBÜ Faculty of Law is to develop legal education and all academic and administrative processes of the Faculty continuously, taking into account the needs and feedback of students, and to create a transparent, accessible, participatory and up-to-date academic environment. To this end, the Faculty adopts an understanding of quality that follows scientific and technological developments in the field of law, supports the active participation of students in educational processes and turns the data obtained into concrete improvements. The PDCA cycle is used as the principal process management mechanism for putting this mission into practice.

Vision

The quality vision of the ASBÜ Faculty of Law is to be an exemplary law faculty in which the views of students and other stakeholders are effectively reflected in decision-making processes, which follows technology and current developments, manages its processes in a measurable and transparent manner, and continuously learns and improves itself. In line with this vision, the Faculty regards quality not merely as the preservation of existing standards but as a dynamic, innovative and continuously improved structure that adapts to the changing world of law and to the needs of students. Turning the feedback obtained through the systematic operation of the PDCA cycle into concrete results is one of the core elements of this vision.
