Call for papers of the essay competition held within the project “Street Art Culture in Türkiye and Its Protection in the Context of Intellectual Property Rights: The Case of Graffiti”, supported by the Directorate General of Copyright of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
“Graffiti and the Law”
The competition, entitled “Graffiti and the Law”, aims to explore the place of rights in graffiti in legal theory and practice across various branches of law, such as commercial law, intellectual property law, the philosophy and sociology of law, and private international law.
Conditions:
1. The competition is open to all undergraduate and master’s students of faculties of law in Türkiye.
2. Each applicant may enter with one paper only.
3. The paper submitted must not have been published anywhere.
4. Papers must comply with the following formatting rules: - Papers must be written in Turkish or English, in Microsoft Word format and in Calibri. The main text and bibliography must be in 11 point and the footnotes in 9 point, with 1.5 line spacing, and the file must be saved in A4 format. Page margins must be set to 3 cm at the top, at the bottom and on both sides, and paragraph spacing must be “6 pt” throughout the document. - Footnotes must follow the OSCOLA citation system, so as to ensure consistency throughout the text. · Papers must be at least two thousand (2,000) words, including footnotes. The bibliography is included in this word count.
· An abstract and keywords are not required, but sources used must be cited at the foot of the relevant page in accordance with the citation system above, and a bibliography must be added.
· The author’s name and surname must appear immediately below the title of the paper, and the footnote there must state the faculty at which the author is studying.
· Papers must be sent to Graffiti and the grafitivehukuk@asbu.edu.tr by the close of business on 15 December 2024.
· The outcome of the jury’s assessment will be announced on 22 December 2024 on the website of the ASBU Faculty of Law.
