The ASBU Faculty of Law held a Symposium on Land Registry Law on 7 April 2022.

The Symposium, opened with speeches by ASBU Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Kazım ARICAN and the Dean of the ASBU Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Bülent KENT, was held online.

In Session I, chaired by Prof. Dr. O. Gökhan ANTALYA, Prof. Dr. Oğuz Sadık AYDOS presented “The Function of the Title Deed with Plan in Land Registry Transactions”; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet AKÇAAL, “Information Serving to Identify Immovable Property and Related Issues Encountered in Practice”; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahar ÖCAL APAYDIN, “The Issue of Limitation Periods Regarding State Liability for the Keeping of the Land Registry”; and Assist. Prof. Dr. Gediz KOCABAŞ, “Conversion into a Family Home, by the Prior Legatee, of Immovable Property Subject to a Subsequent Legacy”.

In Session II, chaired by Prof. Dr. M. Murat İNCEOĞLU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlker ÖZTAŞ presented “An Assessment of the Annotations of Agreements on the Continuation of Co-ownership and Waivers of Pre-emption Rights”; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tolunay OZANEMRE YAYLA, “Annotation of Co-owners’ Legal Transactions Concerning the Enjoyment, Use and Management of Immovable Property Held in Co-ownership”; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Öz SEÇER, “A Third Party’s Request for Registration in Construction Contracts in Return for Land Shares”; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selin SERT SÜTÇÜ, “An Examination, in Light of Recent Court Decisions, of the Effect of the Landowner’s Withdrawal from a Construction Contract in Return for Land Shares on Third Parties Who Purchased Land Shares from the Contractor”.

In Session III, chaired by Prof. Dr. Hayrunnisa ÖZDEMİR, Prof. Dr. Şebnem AKİPEK ÖCAL presented “Actions for Rectification of the Register and Problems in Practice”; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yıldız ABİK, “Annotation of the Family Home”; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesibe KURT KONCA, “Land Registry Annotations Subject to Interim Injunctions”.
