Student Centered Approach

ASBU Law Faculty opened a B.A. in Law program, which is 30% in English, in 2018-2019 Fall Semester. The program has 62 students for the class of ’22.

Due to relatively small class population, students do not get lost in crowds; the low student-faculty ratio allows students to obtain better consultancy and individual attention.

ASBU Law offers research projects, a wide variety of elective courses which will let students specialize in fields of law and have internship opportunities in environments (like courts, prosecution offices, bars, law firms, NGOs) where the law is actually practiced. Our students have meetings with specialists in their fields and receive direct support to plan their career paths.

In ASBU Law, student-centered approach is prioritized with law workshops, active participation to research projects, case study lessons, presentation tasks, courses and exams to advance discernment, group work under student management, student publications, student exchange programs like Mevlana, Erasmus, additional foreign language, education and internship opportunities abroad and opportunities to gain certifications.

Modern Education Perception

In ASBU Law, instead of classical teaching methods, student centered, investigative and questioning teaching method is applied. Our students not only receive information but also generate knowledge. The learning method which is not focused on merely curriculum but supports the curriculum is applied. Our students are able to improve their proficiency by choosing elective courses from a wide spectrum.

Our students participate in national and international projects conducted by our faculty. Besides, they gain the skill set to generate modern and up-to-date solutions by actively participating in interdisciplinary activities.

The skills to develop solutions for social problems and to transform knowledge to benefit are obtained with the help of application and research centers, which are established in cooperation with state agencies, NGOs and private sectors, and projects conducted in ASBU Sosyokent by our students.

Education in Foreign Language

All the people in the world have become closer as a result of globalization; consequently, social, commercial, economic and many more disputes arise among people.

In order to resolve those disputes whose language and jurisdiction are foreign, lawyers need to be qualified and competent. Multilingual and well-suited law education are indispensable for law students to be qualified lawyers. Therefore, a B.A. in Law program at ASBU Law has a curriculum where 30% of the courses are in English. Our students receive one-year advanced English education in English preparatory class in ASBU, which is the only university where foreign languages are organized as a separate school. Besides, our students may improve their foreign language skills through international student exchange programs, scientific and cultural events organized with foreign law schools.

Additional Foreign Languages

ASBU Law students have the opportunity to learn German, Arabic, Chinese, Armenian, Persian, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Russian as a foreign language.
